Learning Outcomes

By the end of the Learning Path you will be able to:
Apply advanced Boolean search techniques and strategies to efficiently source top talent from various databases and online platforms.
Engage with passive candidates effectively by personalizing your outreach approach and utilizing behavioral psychology principles to increase response rates.
Navigate and overcome LinkedIn search limitations, expanding your network and search capabilities for more comprehensive talent sourcing.

Missions in this Learning Path

Starting with the basics, learn how to build perfect Boolean strings using the Universal Search Method and apply them to any database. Even if you've taught yourself Boolean, you'll still learn useful tips on constructing Boolean search strings, and how to build search strings that are applicable to the vast majority of search engines.
In this program, you'll learn how to connect effectively with passive candidates so that they will be more likely to respond to you. We will talk about how to find contact details for candidates you find online, as well as what to say now that you're going to reach out to them. What will get them to answer your call, or open your email? What will encourage them to respond? We'll use behavioural psychology and proven sales tactics to get your response rate up and create an all-round positive experience. We will also look at good communication practices, and discuss how to think more about the candidate themselves and their personality in order to connect with them effectively.
Job boards are a treasure trove of candidate information, but can you sift through the millions of profiles to find those with the skills and experience you need for your req? In this mission, you'll learn how to adapt and apply your Universal Search Method to popular job boards and find great talent.
LinkedIn Search is every recruiter's bread and butter, but how do you overcome the limitations of LinkedIn search - like seeing the 1,001'st result, or the commercial use limit? Jose Kadlec, sourcing expert and co-founder of Goodcall will show you some neat tricks to carve up your search results.
The research you do before you begin to write search strings is arguably the most important part of sourcing. If you do what every other recruiter does and simply copy and paste keywords into a search string, you’ll find the exact same people as every other recruiter. But if you take the time to research and fully understand the role you’re recruiting for, as well as the candidate you’re looking for, you’ll be able to think outside the box, search in unique ways and find candidates that no-one else can.
