Interviewing Level 2

When interviewing candidates, evaluating their competencies or soft skills is a key element to being able to predict their success in your organization. To do this, you must evaluate not just what they do, but how they do it. In this mission, John Vlastelica will show you specific examples of competency-based questions and how to use them. You will also learn the importance of pivoting, how to assess soft skills through situational techniques, and why a culture add is better than a culture fit.

John Vlastelica draws from over 20 years of recruiting experience, including almost 10 years as a corporate recruiting leader. He was the Head of Recruiting for Expedia, Head of Tech Recruiting for Amazon.com, and a hands-on recruiter and engineering recruiting leader for two start-up divisions of McCaw/AT&T Wireless. In 2005, he started Recruiting Toolbox to help other companies improve their in-house recruiting capabilities.
