The 10 Most In-Demand Healthcare Job Titles of July 2015, as identified by Indeed.com, were as follows:

According to Indeed’s stats, job postings in the Healthcare sector have increased by a substantial 27% since June 2014, and clicks on Healthcare jobs have increased by 7%. Much of the Top 10 remains unchanged since last year, but the 27% increase in job postings in this sector has lead to a dramatic increase in the amount of medical institutions seeking trainee pharmacists. Physical Therapist roles were also pushed out of the Top 10 to make room for Case Manager roles.

Phlebotomists are people trained to draw blood from a patient for clinical or medical testing, transfusions, donations, or research. The duties of a phlebotomist may include properly identifying the patient, interpreting the tests requested on the requisition, drawing blood into the correct tubes with the proper additives, accurately explaining the procedure to the patients, preparing patients accordingly, practicing the required forms of asepsis, practicing standard and universal precautions, performing the skin/vein puncture, withdrawing blood into containers or tubes, restoring hemostasis of the puncture site, instructing patients on post-puncture care, ordering tests per the doctor’s requisition, affixing tubes with electronically printed labels, and delivering specimens to a laboratory.

A Case manager manages the provision of health care to people with high-cost medical conditions. The goal of a Case Manager is to coordinate patients’ care so as to improve continuity and quality of care and lower costs. The job of a Case Manager involves four main steps:

  1. Referral of new patients (perhaps from another service if the client has relocated to a new area out of previous jurisdiction, or if client no longer meets the target of previous service, such as requiring a greater level of care. Alternatively, they may be referred after having been placed on an ITO or in an inpatient unit.
  2. Planning & delivery of care
  3. Evaluation of results for each patient & adjustment of the care plan
  4. Evaluation of overall program effectiveness & adjustment of the program
